Nerve Conduction Studies (NCS)
Nerve conduction studies are non-invasive and highly accurate procedures that evaluate the function and integrity of peripheral nerves. This test brings a functional component to the detection of nerve abnormalities. It aids in the diagnosis and management of dysfunctions such as:
- Mononeuropathies
- Polyneuropathies
- Peripheral Neuropathies
- Entrapment Neuropathies
- Compressive Neuropathies
(ex: Carpal Tunnel, Cubital Tunnel, Median Nerve Dysfunction, Ulnar Nerve Dysfunction)
Nerve Conduction Studies are additionally useful in the diagnosis of other conditions which may not be detected by conventional structural studies such as X-Rays, MRIs and CTs.
